1. What this policy covers
1.1 This policy explains how EI Portal uses cookies and similar technologies (such as browser localStorage), what they do, and the choices you have. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
2. What are cookies?
2.1 Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. "Similar technologies" include localStorage and sessionStorage, which store small amounts of data in your browser. We refer to all of these as "cookies" below.
2.2 Cookies can be:
- Strictly necessary — required for the Service to work (you cannot turn these off through our Service);
- Functional — remember your preferences, or hold work you have done in the Tools on this device;
- Analytics/performance — help us understand usage; and
- Advertising/targeting — we do not use these.
3. The cookies and storage we use
3.1 We keep this to a minimum. EI Portal does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
3.2 Items the Service itself stores. The table below is the complete list of everything EI Portal's own code writes to your browser, taken from that code. Every one of them is a localStorage item on the platform at beta.eiportal.com: the Service sets no cookies of its own and uses no sessionStorage, and the public site at eiportal.com stores nothing in your browser at all.

3.3 Cookies set by Cloudflare. Cloudflare provides the sign-in layer in front of beta.eiportal.com and the network/security layer for both sites, and sets its own cookies to do so. These are set at Cloudflare's edge rather than by our code, so we cannot list them from our source; Cloudflare determines their exact names and lifetimes and may change or add to them. The names and durations below are the ones Cloudflare documents for these products at the time of writing, not values we have read from our own deployment; we will replace them with what a live check finds.

3.4 Cookies set by our hosting provider. The platform is hosted on Vercel. Depending on the platform features enabled for a deployment, Vercel may also set cookies of its own at the hosting layer. Like Cloudflare's, any such cookie would be set by the provider rather than by our code, so we cannot list it from our source. We will record whatever a live check of the deployed site finds, and update this policy.
3.5 If you find anything stored by eiportal.com or beta.eiportal.com that is not described above, please tell us at info@eiportal.com and we will correct this policy.
3.6 Analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless — it measures aggregate, anonymised usage without storing cookies on your device or tracking you across other websites.
4. Consent and your choices
4.1 Everything in the tables above is either set by Cloudflare, or by our hosting provider, so that sign-in, hosting and security work, or written by the Service into your own browser so that the tools keep your settings and your work on this device. Not all of it waits for you to act: the project workspace store described in §3.2 is created the moment you open a tool page, before you have set any preference or entered anything, and only fills up with your work afterwards. None of it is used for advertising, for building a profile of you, or for tracking you across other websites, and our analytics sets nothing on your device at all. If we ever introduce storage that is not needed to provide what you have asked for — for example cookie-based analytics, advertising, an embedded third-party feature, or a payment provider that sets its own cookies — we will put a compliant consent mechanism in place before it is used.
4.2 You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and clear localStorage at any time. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies may stop parts of the Service (such as sign-in) from working.
4.3 Most browsers let you: see what cookies are stored and delete them individually; block third-party cookies; block cookies from particular sites; block all cookies; and delete all cookies when you close the browser. See your browser's help pages for instructions.
5. Changes
5.1 We may update this policy as the Service evolves or as the cookies we use change. The "Last updated" date shows the latest version.
